Why Pope Francis Global Academy?

Opened in August of 2016, Pope Francis Global Academy has brought together the strengths, resources and traditions of 4 local parish schools, creating one new and exciting faith-filled center of academic excellence  located on two campuses on Chicago's northwest side.  We are proud to be the most recently founded elementary school within the Archdiocese of Chicago and our Spiritual Charter serves as a guide post to our students, teachers and administrators on a daily basis.

Our newly developed and highly prized curriculum was created from the ground up through collaboration between local and regional educational and thought leaders, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and two regionally recognized educational consultants who steered the entire curriculum development effort and continue to work regularly with our staff on professional training.

Pope Francis Global Academy teachers continue to deepen their understanding of the new curricular tools available to them through regular staff meetings and professional development days.   On a regular basis, our teachers collaborate with their cross-campus counterparts to seek improvement in their own delivery of the subject matter in ways that are project-oriented, engaging,  forward thinking and data-driven.

Beyond strong teachers and the best available curriculum, our students walk in and they know they are "home." Our new school community has developed nicely over this inaugural year bringing together students, teachers and traditions from our four founding schools, as well as welcoming new friends from other local schools and creating many new activities that will become PFGA traditions over the years to come.

Our incredible and very active Parents' Club has planned and executed dozens of fun and enriching activities for the students both during the school day as well as outside of school hours.  After school clubs, sports teams and enrichment classes offer a way for kids to build their social skills, improve their physical and mental abilities, explore new hobbies, tap into their own skill sets, and build self-confidence, all while strengthening the PFGA community bonds.

Our graduates from last year's inaugural year are out representing Pope Francis Global Academy at some of the most highly regarded Catholic High Schools (with thousands of dollars in scholarship money), as well as some of the most selective public high schools in Chicago.   They have been well-prepared at Pope Francis Global Academy - academically, spiritually, and socially.
